Hi David, it's really great to hear from you. I attended (via the internet) the recent webinar about HSMM, and have done a bit of reading about it.

MEP, our project, has a website located here:

www.delmarnorth.com/microwave

We have some hardware that's running OpenWRT, and I understand HSMM-MESH is based upon that.

We haven't had an opportunity (yet) to experiment with HSMM-MESH, but we would like to.

There was a comment made during the seminar that I haven't had much of a chance to investigate. From my limited recall, I didn't get the sense that there was protection of streams of data. In other words, the connection may indeed be dropped in certain situations. We'd be interested in the system having some sense of protecting data streams. If you moved around, there would be (perhaps) a mobile IP type of behavior. I'm not sure if my recall is correct, but I'd be interested to learn more about how HSMM-MESH views data that happens to be a stream, such as a video stream.

Another question that came up was about what would happen if two or more nodes had internet access - what would be the behavior of the mesh? The explanation attracted my attention - that the "closest" node would provide access for anyone that needed routing outside the mesh. That sounded interesting! We were curious as to what that meant and how it was accomplished.

Hi Michelle. This is David Rivenburg, AD5OO, lead firmware developer
for HSMM-MESH. I was googling around today and found mention of
HSMM-MESH in the mep-dev mail archives. I see you are working with
video, and video is one of the applications we want to have available on
the mesh. Is there a website or other resource that describes exactly
what your project is trying to achieve? Are there any questions I can
answer about the suitability of HSMM-MESH to your application?
