Here's a draft document of commentary on the neon test code that Phil Balister recommended would be a good starting place. The goal is to add neon support to the library Fastest Fourier Transform in the West (FFTW).

In other areas of investigation, I'm learning about six-port devices used as wide-band microwave receivers. These may work well for SDR-based systems like ours!
