[Mep-dev] Add NEON Support to FFTW - Update

Several of us (Phil Balister and myself with a growing cheering section) are currently working on adding NEON support to the open-source software package Fastest Fourier Transform in the West.

This effort will help improve signal processing on the Beagleboard, a low-cost development board with the TI OMAP processor, which includes NEON.

As you all know, MEP uses beagleboards as a development platform. So far, one out of three of the beagleboards in the lab here successfully installed FFTW version 3.2.2. I'm working on cleaning up the problems on the other two. Next step is to learn how to test whether or not changes to the code actually have the intended consequences.
