In my efforts, I aim to support the broadest audience possible. By 
working in the "standard" Unix user space, you can support multiple 
distributions across a broad variety of hardware.

There will be specific hardware dependent code, but hopefully those are 
not obvious to the people developing the signal processing software.

Androids goal is to provide a rigid operating environment for small 
machines. The goal is to provide an environment for people to develop 
applications for mobile devices, not a general purpose scalable platform.
