I don't think so, if anything it provides extra flexibility due to the
ability to distribute processing between state machines, logic, and full
processor - on all one device.

FPGAs aren't new, and I would assume the talent exists. I know at least one
person on this list that works with FPGAs on a daily basis, most likely that
there are more.
